BEFORE YOU ENQUIRE

Your Questions.
Answered.

When will training be available?

Message us to find out more about when training will be available. We will confirm the schedule, fees, course format and entry requirements before you decide to enrol.

Where will the training take place?

Training takes place in Stockport, Greater Manchester. We will provide confirmed venue details with your joining instructions. Please contact us before travelling and tell us about any access or learning support you need.

Which security course should I choose?

Tell us whether you are new to security, the type of work you want to do, and whether you already hold an SIA licence. We can discuss the door supervisor, security officer or refresher route with you.

Do I need first aid before security training?

An appropriate first-aid qualification is required for door supervisor and security guard licence-linked training. For refresher training, current SIA guidance requires at least 12 months remaining on the certificate, plus ACT Awareness and ACT Security certificates completed within the last year. Send us the qualification name and expiry date so we can check what you need before enrolment.

Does completing training give me an SIA licence?

No. The relevant qualification is part of the licensing process. You must apply separately to the SIA and meet its eligibility and suitability requirements. Passing a course does not guarantee a licence.

Can I enquire for a group or my employees?

Yes. Tell us which course you need and approximately how many people would attend. We can discuss availability and arrangements for your team in Stockport, Greater Manchester. See Business Training for more information.

Can I Get Help With Training Costs?

Contact us to explore possible Quest support or a suitable funding route. Support is not automatic: eligibility, funding or Quest approval, course numbers and availability must be confirmed. Quest-supported places may involve a 12-month work commitment; any work commitment and repayment conditions will be explained in writing before you accept. No funding or free place is guaranteed by submitting an enquiry.

Can Quest help me find work after training?

Quest also recruits for security, events and facilities roles. You can apply through our separate recruitment application. Opportunities depend on vacancies, suitability, right-to-work checks and any licence required for the role; there is no guaranteed job with training.

For official licensing information, see applying for an SIA licence and SIA training requirements.
